Construction SpecificationsAll construction specifications must be developed in the CSI Format using the MasterSpec system. MasterSpec® is a product of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is produced and published for the AIA by ARCOM. In addition, the documents below are specification sections that have been tailored to meet specific requirements of the Institution and should be used when required by a particular design. Construction Specification Cover Sheet: A title page for the specification book with the required signature block for the Associate Director of OEDC and containing a statement of conformance with the Smithsonian Directive (SD) 410. Division One, Supplementary Conditions for Construction: Use this MS Word guide specification for all projects except very large projects. Careful editing is required by the the Design Manager and/or the Architect-Engineer Design Team. For projects at NZP contact the Resident Engineer for assistance in developing a customized set of Supplementary Conditions. The following guide specifications have been approved by OSHEM for use on Smithsonian projects. Section 08331, Rolling Fire Doors Section 13280, Asbestos Abatement and Section, 15080 Mechanical Systems Insulation Section 13285, Work Activities Impacting Lead-Containing Materials: Included is the “Waste Control Log” and the “Certification of Visual Inspection and Final Clearance Sampling for Lead Work.” Section 15300, Fire Extinguishing Sprinkler System (Wet Pipe) Section 15320, Fire Pump Systems Section 15340, Fire Extinguishing Sprinkler System (Preaction) Section 16720, Conventional Fire Alarm and Fire Detection System |
